- How does eBay's final value fee work?
- eBay charges a final value fee (FVF) on the total sale amount — item price plus any shipping you charge the buyer. Rates are tiered: most categories charge 13.25% on the first $7,500, then 2.35% on the amount above that. Some categories have different rates, caps (e.g. Musical Instruments max $350), or flat fees (e.g. Real Estate $35 flat).
- Are there any other eBay fees not shown here?
- This calculator covers the final value fee and the $0.30 per-order fee charged on every transaction. It does not include insertion fees (for listings beyond your free monthly allotment), optional listing upgrade fees (bold title, gallery plus), or promoted listing fees.
- Does eBay charge separately for payment processing?
- No — eBay's managed payments system bundles payment processing into the final value fee. There is no separate PayPal or processing fee for most sellers using eBay's built-in checkout.
- Does an eBay Store subscription lower my fees?
- Yes. A Basic Store subscription reduces your FVF rate by 0.9 percentage points, and a Premium Store reduces it by 1.9 percentage points. Use the Store Subscription toggle to see how the discount affects your payout. Note that store subscriptions have their own monthly cost, so the savings need to outweigh that fee to be worthwhile.
